Sole E35 Elliptical – smooth, professional feel, easy on the joints – power incline – 20 ECB resistance levels – sturdy design – – long warranty on parts/electronics + frame – good all round contender
The Sole E35 sits comfortably as the middle sibling between the cheaper Sole E25 and E95 ellipticals. It is $300 more expensive than it’s baby brother and $400 cheaper than the E95. It has excellent features including a power incline and adjustable handlebars and stride length, so you can find your optimal comfort zone.
So Why Should You Buy The Sole E35?
The machine is very robust and sturdy. It will take a lot of abuse. This is reflected in the lifetime frame warranty and also by the 5 years on parts and electronics warranty. On the subject of parts and electronics the machine offers a smooth operating feel and anyone used to Sole’s electronic braking system will find the E35 elliptical a dream.
The push button ramp incline is a great feature as it allows you to increase your incline slope at the touch of a button. No getting off or slowing down is required to adjust the angle of resistance. It adjusts to a very steep 30 degree angle, so if it’s a calorie burning, tough workout that is kind on the knees, hips and ankles you want, you can get it.
The machine may not have as many features as the E95 but it certainly offers great value for money. You get 10 workout programs and 20 resistance setting along with the aforementioned power incline, adjustable stride and handlebars, tough frame and excellent warranty.
Easy To Move
If you want to know how heavy the machine is for moving or storing, it weighs in at 215 pounds. It is relatively each to move though as it comes with transport wheels for easy pushing.
No elliptical is complete without a way to track your stats. The blue back lit lcd on the E35 lists the standard features of speed, distance, workout time, calories burned and heart bpm when the hand grips or the chest straps are in use. This is complimented by target heart rate programs. Two users can also store their data on the console.
If you don’t want to spend a few hours assembling the heavy flywheel and components you can pay an additional fee for assembly. Although if you have patience and are handy at tinkering you can do this yourself and save the cost.
This is quite a large machine as is almost 7ft in length (83 inches). It is just under 5 feet tall (58 inches) and almost 3 feet wide (32 inches), so it may not be a good option if you are tight for space.
What Entertainment features does the Sole E35 offer?
The entertainment features are fairly limited. You have an audio port for plugging in your iPod and built in speakers so you can scream along to your favorite tracks as you pound out the moves. As regards to having a built in browser or TV, that could perhaps compromise the space of the machine, and how many people can operate a browser while working an elliptical? That is not really the point of one. It’s serious workout here baby!

What’s Good About The E35
Offers a good upper and lower body workout. The Sole E35 is an extremely comfortable, stable and professional feeling machine. The power incline is a great feature that makes your workout more challenging. The warranty is very good, and although big, this is a very well designed machine.
Not So Good
Front drive System – this is a matter of feel but some users like a rear drive system.
Could do with more workout programs. The E35 only has 10. Although you can navigate this by running it in manual mode.
The Sole E35 is a well rounded elliptical machine. Everything is professionally made and put together. The feel is great, if it’s a smooth challenging workout you are after, this is a good friend. It may not hold all the aces when it comes to program choice, and entertainment, but what elliptical does? And why would you need such luxuries if your ultimate goal is a total workout burn? The built in speakers are enough to give most people inspiration when the going gets tough.
So why should you choose this over the cheaper Sole E25? Well the warranty is longer which can save you the extra few hundred quid if anything does go wrong. The Sole E35 also has more resistance levels, and the machine is 26 pounds heavier which adds to the sturdiness. A good upgrade for $300 more.
