Nautilus T616 Treadmill Review – More Than A Cosmetic Upgrade?Investing in your health is always a good idea. There are a thousand diets out there that people are trying. Starving yourself does not give you a well-rounded healthy life, in fact, in some cases it will have its reparations in the end. However; keeping fit is the best way to go and coupled together with eating well, you can lead a very healthy life. Now to partner up with your eating plan, here is a treadmill that will help you reach your ultimate goal. Nautilus has come up with an upgrade from the T614, now they bring you the T616.
How good is this treadmill?
The upgrades over the T614 aren’t exactly out of this world but they do make a difference. With the CPH motor raised up to 3.0 continuous horsepower, the Nautilus T616 is much more powerful and performs better. This treadmill has 5 inches more running space with the deck size at 20” x 60”, this is ideal for taller runners. If you are looking for comfort this machine is with you. It has a six hex cell, StrikeZone cushioning system, this makes you feel less sore the days after your run.
You also get 4 extra workout programs, the inclines goes from 12 to 15%, and a chest strap is included for monitoring your heart rate. The LCD monitor is bulkier and split in 2. You also get a few slight tweaks as regards the power, the space and the cushioning. The belt is also made stronger as Nautilus upgraded it to 2 ply thickness. The T616 therefore has effectively been tuned up a bit. All Nautilus treadmills are top quality, they are sturdy and very comfortable.
Lets break down things in further detail.
There are twenty-six pre-set programs that can break the monotony of running in one place. If you get bored easily this can make you feel inspired to run. The programs include, 1 manual program, 3 quick goal programs (for those who have very limited time on their hands), 6 training programs for the avid runners, 5 weight control programs, 4 heart health programs, 3 interval programs and 4 programs you can custom set yourself.
This treadmill comes with a DualTrack double LCD monitor that helps when you want to have a quick glance at your progress while you work out. All for your listening pleasure, you can play your favorite music while you work out thanks to the MP3 input port and the large acoustic chamber speakers that are connected to the treadmill. While you run, you can now read a magazine or check your emails off your tablet while it rests on the media tray that is right in front of you.
You can now keep track of your heart rate, making sure you do not become over exerted during tough training sessions. The goal is to get fit, lose weight, or tone up, not to be dead. By setting a heart rate zone, the machine will make sure you stay within that zone with the contact pulse grips and the newly added chest strap. This machine allows you to upload your workout progress on Nautilus Connect or My FitnessPal using the USB charging port for future reference. It comes with a folding option and wheels, which means when you are done you can wheel it away to the storage cupboard with ease.
Reclaim Your Space
One real nice aspect of modern treadmills is the fact that you can fold them up after use and reclaim your living space. This treadmill features a soft drop folding mechanism that allows you to reduce it’s bulky size (in use takes up roughly the size of a couch). It also will unfold softly so you won’t get accidentally crushed under the running deck.
This treadmill has so many great aspects about it. It is a nice looking machine made with strong materials. It is fast and can cope with different speeds without struggling like other treadmills do. You can go on as long as you like and it will not tire or show signs of wanting a break. If you want more of a challenge when you run, change the incline of the machine and it will help you burn your legs and push yourself a little further. The incline is 15% gradient and can be part of the custom programs you can design to personalize training sessions.
No matter how much you run or how heavy you are, the machine has amazing shock absorbers. So you will never feel strained as you run and you can have a less body stress run. Your DOMS will be a lot less noticeable that if you had the same run outdoors. It is big enough to accommodate long legs with its wider surface area. The controls are very easy to use. You do not need a degree in astro physics to work this machine. The instructions are easy to use and with the two LCD windows you do not need to strain your eyes while you run to see what is going on, everything is in full view. An additional chest strap helps you always keep your heart rate in check, and it is connected to the console so it will adjust the workout according to your heart rate.
The machine comes with a 3 speed fan that will keep you nice and cool, so it takes care of you as you work out. This treadmill comes with warranties that are quite good for the different components of the machines. From 10 years to as low as 24 months for the much smaller parts. That is decent for such a machine as other warranties do not last this long.
Every machine unfortunately has its down sides. This treadmill, however; does not have many of these down sides. The one outstanding con is that it is a heavy machine. Assembling it on your own might be a problem, you will need a second pair of hands to help lift.
What do owners say about it?
This treadmill sells itself apart by it’s rugged tough appearance. It is particularly popular with sporty people who train for long distance running. The machine is good for that because it is good with endurance. Those who have very long winters and do not like going out for a jog, will love this machine because it means they never have to leave the house to keep fit.
It is made of all the right stuff that one needs for running indoors. It’s strong, it’s sturdy and it’s smooth, plus it can also fold. It is very health conscious with the heart rate monitor and the regulatory feature to ensure you do not over exert yourself. It is a machine perfect for training for marathons and with the various workout programs it will suit everyone from the novice to the more seasoned runner.
