It is a machine that can get you up and running in no time.
What is this treadmill all about?
This respected treadmill will make you feel inspired to get fit by just looking at it. It comes with twenty-two programs to get you into shape. Depending on where you are on the fitness scale, you can choose what you want to use. The programs include; a manual one where you can just get up and get on with it till you are tired. The others are three quick goals, five training programs, three weight control, five heart health, three interval and two custom programs to suit your needs.
With a 3”x 5” high resolution blue black-lit LCD monitor that keeps you updated as you work out, this treadmill tells you how you are doing and how much progress you have made. This monitor is big enough for you to look at while you running and you do not have to stop in between exercise to take a peek. If you want to challenge yourself you can increase the speed in increments or adjust the ramp at the touch of a button. you can also type in the a number for the speed to adjust to, which saves you holding your finger on the plus button.
This is a nice feature, the treadmill comes with its own USB charging port as well as Nautilus Connect which will have you connected to the internet. Nautilus Connect allows you to keep track of your workouts so you can chart your progress. You can also connect to myfitnesspal.com if you want to also track your weight and calorie goals.
The treadmill is very sturdy as it weighs some 200lbs. As it is so weighty it can handle high speeds without wobbling about. It can easily be moved after assembling as it has transport wheels underneath. The running surface is made out of a running belt that measures 20”x 55” which accommodates people of different sizes and heights.
The Strike Zone 4 cell cushioning makes it an easy and comfortable run for the person using the treadmill, great for shock absorbing. You are guaranteed to feel supported as well when you run due to the big 2.5” crowned rollers which ensure an even running surface as well as peace and quiet while you work your way to fitness.
The treadmill itself comes with a 10 year frame and motor warranty which Nautilus can confidently give because the internal features are of good quality. It has a 2.75 CHP motor which is heavy duty where this treadmill is concerned. If it where not, you would not get a 10 year warranty which is truly exceptional at this price point.
The speed is also excellent, it can range from 0 to 12 MPH which should be sufficient even for avid runners. The adjustable incline ranges from 0 degrees to 12 degrees, for those who like a challenge it really is up to you. The power requirement that is needed is the standard 110v.
Fitness has to be made easy and this treadmill has some really good advantages to it. It is designed with a soft drop fold up deck which means it is easy to pull out and use and then return it back into storage. This means you can set it up right in front of the TV and you can exercise while you watch your favorite show. As previously mentioned it comes with wheels which means when you move it you do not have to strain yourself, you just push it around. With the soft drop technology you can save space which means this treadmill is suitable for any space even your office.
The five heart health programs that we talked about already go hand in hand with the grip monitor that comes on the grip bars of the treadmill. This measures your heart rate as you exercise and you can monitor it through out by looking at the LCD monitor. It is also really great to be able to change up programs from walking to running, different inclines. This is beneficial because running in the same spot can be monotonous but with different programs it feels like you are doing different things each time. There is a bonus, when you are switching up programs you don’t have to break your workout, it is all right there at arm’s reach on the grip bars.
Although it is heavy in the box, and would be useful having 2 people assemble it,iIt is easy to set up and it comes with an easy to understand manual. So another DIY project for you which only takes minutes and leaves you feeling proud of yourself. You also get acoustic designed speakers that give a richer (albeit not massive club sound) audio spectrum so you can focus on your running while you listen to some music.
There is also a 3 speed fan that will just be keeping you cool while you run. No need to stop for air. This treadmill can connect to the internet via USB and you can download your progress and your fitness stats to an account. This is a good way to be able to go back and see how well you are doing or whether there has been a drop in your fitness levels. It also keeps track of your heart rate which you can use for medical purposes.
This is not a budget treadmill so it may not suit first time owners looking to dip their toes in the market. You can get treadmills like the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 for a lower price. It is a great treadmill also. But what you do get with the extra money though is assurance of longevity. The warranty on the motor reflects this. If it breaks down within 10 years it is covered.
But every cloud has a silver lining. 90 days labor is only covered, and 2 years electrical and mechanical, which is not bad for these, although short for labor. The running belt is only 1ply thick. The Nautilus T616 has a 2 ply belt and a few extra upgrades, like a chest strap and a few extra programs and belt length, but it costs a few hundred extra.
What do verified owners say about it?
For those who have given this treadmill a shot they seem to love it. The easy setup is a winner. Most of the treadmill comes assembled, all you have to do is attach the handlebars and console and you are set. Everyone likes it simple. People like the look of the machine and say the features are really good, especially the different programs. The soft drop feature is very popular and everyone says is very easy to use.
Nautilus T614 Verdict
For it’s price it could use more features. It is however a good sturdy machine that can be very helpful with fitness and heart health monitoring. We could all use an accurate heart rate monitor. Most people seem to like the machine, the price may not seem like much of factor because it is a durable machine. But also the warranty on the console and other parts is a little disappointing. A machine should have the same warranty overall. But that is not solely the forte of Nautilus only – most treadmills for sale under $1000 do not come with long warranties.
I would recommend the Nautilus T614 treadmill to those who have bigger budgets and are serious about their fitness regime. It is also good because it does not discriminate on the size of the runner. So I would say give it a try. You never know, you might be just ready for summer in time.
